MARINE PLASTIC ART
DARWIN200 has supported the Slovakian-Bulgarian artist Daniela Raytchev.
Daniela has created a sculpture made from recycled ocean plastic called ‘All Of Me’.
“I created this piece to show how working in harmony with nature can turn waste into a message of hope.” Raytchev
Marine Plastic Artwork
The artwork is intended to put a spotlight on the plastic crisis, and is made from plastic waste items collected along the coasts of Brazil and Uruguay.
Every year, more than 11 million tonnes of plastic enter the oceans. According to the United Nations, if current trends continue there could be more plastic than fish by weight in the ocean by 2050.
Daniela Raytchev and her artwork are independent from DARWIN200.
