Darwin200 Live Q & A Session 7 (November 1st, 2022)
The Don Hanson Charitable Foundation's Hanson Box Project ( www.hansonbox.org ) and the DARWIN200 project ( www.darwin200.com ) have organised a series of ten 'Nature Hour' events exploring the wildlife and conservation of fascinating regions around the world. These 'Nature Hour' events will run from October 2022 to April 2023. Broadcast in partnership with Exploring By The Seat Of Your Pants to schools across the world, each monthly event focuses on a different region, and features interviews with key conservationists, competitions, activities, prizes, quizzes and more! In this nature hour event we journey to the Falkland Islands to explore the incredible wildlife of this fascinating archipelago which includes seals, sea lions, penguins, albatrosses and more! During this event, Stewart McPherson provides an overview of the wildlife of the Falkland Islands and conservationist Caroline Weir from Falklands Conservation will recount fascinating stories of her work protecting and monitoring whales and dolphins in the waters around the Falkland Islands. This event features three Kahoot prizes, each with £50 Amazon vouchers, as well as the announcement of the winner of a culture of stick insects. An overview of the upcoming visit of the DARWIN200 Project is presented, along with a summary of the planned live activities that will be beamed from the Falkland Islands, and lastly, a summary of upcoming Nature Hour events!
