Darwin200 young scientist Jasper Whitefield leads a project to study wind power by building and installing a wind generator on the Darwin200 ship.

Jasper undertakes a series of experiments with Dr. Charlotte Braungardt, of the University of Plymouth. Once the wind turbine is built and functioning, Jasper and Dr. Charlotte test it in real world conditions to demonstrate and understand the efficiency of generating electricity from the wind.

As the Darwin200 ship sails past vast wind farms, Jasper reflects on the vast potential of generating renewable energy from wind power around the British Isles and beyond!
